This webinar was presented via Zoom on June 17, 2024 by Oncology Director at Large Dani DeCormier and Credentialing Committee Co-Chair Kate McLaughlin, VTS (Cardiology). Refer to the 2024 application instructions for links and additional information.
Be sure to review the chat transcript (linked below) to read questions that were answered by chat. |
Some answers to questions that arose during this Q&A:
- Per Dani, you may refer to or cite other essential skill submissions as applicable. However, you MAY NOT refer to or cite your essential skill submissions within your Case Reports.
- Review the oncology essential skills list to see exactly what documents will be required for each skill, including how to name each file.
- For essential skill 3 (lymph node measurements), take all the pictures you need and edit them to ensure the correct Case Log number is added prior to submission. These pictures must be from cases seen within your application year (October 1, 2023 - September 30, 2024)!
- For essential skill 5 (microscopy), you can submit slide images YOU obtained at any point in your career. The image must include patient signalment, presenting complaint, sample type, and method of collection and preparation. If you do not have this information for the slide, it is highly suggested you choose a different slide.
- In regards to mastery of multi-part skills, we expect applicants to have mastered 80% of the listed skills for it to be considered "mastered".
- There is no word or page limit this year for the essential skill write ups.
