Camia Tonge, MS, LVT, VTS (SAIM)
President Elect of AIMVT. Camia Tonge is a licensed veterinary technician with a Master’s in instructional design and a Bachelor’s in English. She graduated from Laguardia Community College's Associate’s in Veterinary Technology program in 2005 and obtained her New York state licensure in 2007. Camia spent several years in general practice before finding her passion for small animal internal medicine at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center. She obtained her veterinary technician specialty (VTS) in small animal internal medicine in 2017. She enjoys bridging the educational gap and providing support through client education and training for post-hospitalization and long-term care of veterinary patients. She is an active member of state, national, and international associations. She is a current board member of the Academy of Internal Medicine for Veterinary Technicians (AIMVT) and the Metropolitan District representative for the New York State Association of Veterinary Technicians. She has presented lectures at local and international conferences. Camia worked as an LVT and Clinical Educator at Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, where she enjoys teaching and mentoring new veterinary technicians and support staff. She is currently the Director of licensed veterinary technicians and assistants in the Exotics, Dentistry, Interventional radiology/endoscopy, Ophthalmology, and Neurology departments at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center
